Include your device model and iOS version — it makes fixes much faster. Replies usually within a business day.
Type an amount and hit Charge. The screen flips to face your customer with a QR code for each payment app you've connected. They scan with their phone camera, the amount is pre-filled, and they pay in their own app. Stripe and PayPal sales confirm automatically; Venmo sales you confirm with one tap when the notification arrives.
Settings → Get paid → Connect next to Stripe. One button, no API keys — you sign in on Stripe's own page (or create a Stripe account there). Money goes straight to your Stripe account; SugarSnapp takes no cut.
Enter your PayPal.Me name or your Venmo business profile handle in Settings. Venmo requires a business profile for selling.
Tap Cash or EBT on the charge screen to log the sale instantly. EBT is recorded in your ledger for complete bookkeeping — SugarSnapp does not process EBT/SNAP payments.
If you switch it on, self-checkout can offer the ways you take money by hand, not just cards. A shopper picks one and shows you a receipt that says “You said you paid by Cash” and carries no PAID stamp. That is what it is supposed to look like — it is not a fake, and not a failed payment. It is the shopper telling you what they did, and nothing has been verified.
The sale waits in your ledger with a Confirm button. Nothing counts toward your day until you press it, and pressing it stamps their receipt PAID while they are still standing there. If the money never reached you, don’t confirm it — an unconfirmed claim costs you nothing.
You choose per stand. A staffed stall should hold claims for confirming; an unattended honesty box can take the shopper’s word and mark them paid straight away. You also pick exactly which ways a shopper may choose, or turn the whole thing off. Cards are unaffected either way — they run through Stripe and confirm themselves.
Card payments run on your own Stripe account, not ours. That one fact answers most of the questions below.
Yours. Connecting from SugarSnapp creates a standard Stripe account in your name, and you get the full Stripe Dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com — payments, payouts, disputes, receipts, the lot. SugarSnapp can create a charge on your account when you ring up a sale, and nothing else. We never hold your money, and we can't move it.
You do, and Stripe bills you directly at their standard rate. SugarSnapp adds nothing on top — no commission, no per-transaction fee, no markup. You'll see the fee on each payment in your own Stripe Dashboard, not on a bill from us.
To the bank account on your Stripe account, on Stripe's payout schedule — typically a couple of business days after the sale. The money never passes through SugarSnapp. If a payout is late or paused, that's between you and Stripe, and their Dashboard will say why.
Stripe does, directly with you. They'll email you if they need a document or more detail, and you upload it on their site. SugarSnapp never sees, collects, or stores your ID, bank details, or tax information.
The dispute is between you, your customer, and Stripe. Stripe takes the disputed amount from your Stripe balance while it's investigated and emails you with a deadline to respond; you contest it in your own Stripe Dashboard, where you can upload evidence. SugarSnapp is not the merchant of record and can't contest a dispute for you — but your ledger and the customer's stamped receipt are usually the evidence you need, and you can export both.
Yes. Open the sale in your Ledger and use the row's refund action. For a card sale, the refund is issued on your Stripe account and the money comes out of your Stripe balance — same as refunding from Stripe's own Dashboard. For cash, Venmo, PayPal, or EBT, there's nothing for us to reverse: the ledger marks the sale refunded so your books stay straight, and you hand the money back the way you took it.
Yes — fraud screening runs on your account with your settings. Open Radar in your Stripe Dashboard to tighten or loosen the rules. Our settings don't apply to your sales.
Your Stripe account is yours and stays exactly as it is, with your history and your money. Disconnecting in Settings only stops SugarSnapp from creating new charges on it; you can also revoke access from your Stripe Dashboard. Deleting your SugarSnapp account removes our records, not your Stripe ones.
SugarSnapp automatically boosts brightness during checkout. If it's still hard to scan, check Settings → Display & Brightness on your device and make sure auto-brightness isn't capped by Low Power Mode.
"In progress" means the customer scanned and was sent to their payment app. Stripe and PayPal confirmations arrive over the network within seconds; on weak signal they can lag. If the customer shows you their confirmation, you can safely log the sale manually — it will carry a small self-confirmed marker so your ledger stays honest.
The register, cash logging, and manual confirmation all work offline. QR payments need a connection (yours and the customer's) to confirm. Sales logged offline sync when you're back on signal.
If you believe a seller, payment link, or receipt page is fraudulent — a stand that isn't real, a pay link that doesn't match the seller in front of you, or a charge you didn't make — report it and we'll investigate.
Reports are read by a human. Sellers found to be abusive lose their checkout pages.
Ledger tab → share icon exports the visible day as CSV through the standard iOS share sheet.
Open any sale in the Ledger and tap "Send receipt" — it composes into your own Messages or Mail. Works for cash sales too.
Settings → Delete account removes your account and all synced data permanently. Your money and records inside Stripe/PayPal/Venmo are unaffected. See the privacy policy for details.
